Community Food Assessment To address food access and other key food issues in the Downtown and Inkster neighbourhoods, Food Matters Manitoba has launched two new community food assessments.  This is an opportunity for community members to identify and address food challenges which will result in creative solutions that meet the unique needs of a community.
Dig In Manitoba Dig In Manitoba is a cooperative effort between Food Matters Manitoba, local parents, health educators and farmers. It is rooted in the belief that we all have something powerful and important to learn from each other when it comes to growing and eating healthy, sustainable food.

Northern Healthy Foods Initiative

Through the Northern Healthy Foods Initiative, Food Matters Manitoba works with 13 northern and remote Manitoba communities to develop and build on community food plans.
Golden Carrot Awards Do you know someone who has a unique farm or garden, or is using education to increase awareness and access to good food? The Golden Carrot Awards celebrate contributions from people and businesses towards healthy, fair food for all.
Growing Local Celebrating 6 years as Manitoba's premiere food security event, the Growing Local conference brings together consumers, farmers, traditional harvesters and everyone in between, for 2 inspired days of learning and sharing.
Our Food Our Health Our Culture The OFHC project is facilitated by Food Matters Manitoba and works in three project sites: North End Winnipeg, Fox Lake Cree Nation/Gillam (Northern MB), and La Ronge/Lac La Ronge Indian Band/Air Ronge (Northern Sask.).  In all sites, we work closely with local partners to implement the project, seeking to improve food literacy, develop healthy food server curriculum, and improve access to healthy foods.
Revisioning the Manitoba Harvest The goal of RVMH is to foster a localized food system that is strengthened and sustained by participation and cooperation from farmers and local food eaters.
Youth Outreach Educating youth in Manitoba is fundamental for the future of good food in our province.  Food Matters Manitoba works with youth and schools in projects such as school gardening kits, the Localvore Iron Chef Cook-Off, school workshops and presentations, newsletter articles for schools, and the annual Youth Gathering at the Growing Local conference.
