Introducing Demian Lawrenchuk, our new Executive Director!

Welcome Demian!

The Board of Directors of Food Matters Manitoba (FMM) is pleased to welcome Demian Lawrenchuk to the role of Executive Director (ED). Demian, who has been with FMM since early 2019 as the Northern Partnerships Program Manager, brings a wealth of expertise in provincial food systems, Indigenous engagement, fund development, and grassroots leadership.

We know that Demian will inspire and support the collective efforts of the board and the staff team in the coming months and years. We look forward to this new chapter of the organization, as our FMM community continues to work towards achieving our mission of collaboratively advancing perceptions, policies and practices towards equitable food systems.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our outgoing ED, Rob Moquin, for his steady leadership of FMM over the past few years. Rob leaves FMM after having established a strong financial and organizational foundation, and providing kind and caring management and mentoring to all the FMM staff. He will be missed, but we wish him well on his future endeavors.
