Dahlu T’ua

mgreenhouse1

Here are the different ways in which we currently support the important work of our partners in Dahlu T'ua (Lac Brochet)

Traditional Harvesting

We help our partner in Dahlu T’ua fund existing harvesting activities in the community with supplies. This ranges from items such as seasonal harvesting equipment and clothing to transportation fuel.

Gardening

We support outdoor seasonal gardening with seed shipments through our community partners for dispersal to all community members. One of the partners also hosted a household gardening competition last year for the whole community!

Infrastructure

Dahlu T’ua currently has two community greenhouses. One of which we built in partnership with our northern agricultural specialist and the community during the summer of 2022. It is currently located beside the Lac Brochet Health Centre and is used to support the local food system with indoor edible plants.

Winter Roads

The winter road that connects Kisipakamak to the permanent highway network is the longest winter road we support. This winter road starts in O-Pipon-Na-Piwin, traverses north-west to Kisipakamak, and further travels north all the way to Dahlu T’ua!
