Food Guide Snapshot

The new and revised Canada’s Food Guide (CFG), released in January 2019, provide healthy eating recommendations to:

  • Break down complex nutrition information.
  • Clarify confusing healthy eating messages.
  • Provide credible healthy eating information.

The CFG revision transpired to ensure information is aligned with the most updated resource on sodium, saturated fat, and sugars and address the challenges in:

  • Daily application of healthy eating recommendations, particularly in creating nutritious meals and snacks.
  • Providing the right information to the right audience.

 

The CFG also offers a Food Guide Snapshot that provides an at-a-glance presentation of food choices and eating habits in 28 languages.
