Misipawistik

grandrapidstrip1

Here are the different ways in which we currently support the important work of our partners in Misipawistik (Grand Rapids)

Gardening

We work closely with our partners at the Grand Rapids School so that youth can learn sustainable ways to grow food and medicine outdoors and indoors (lengthening the growing season!). We send seeds and soil annually, helped build a greenhouse, and garden boxes.

Medicine and Ceremony Supports

We help our partners in Misipawistik coordinate ceremonies and important community events such as the latest Wild Rice Gathering.

We envision sustainable food systems rooted in food justice.
We acknowledge we are treaty people, residing on Turtle Island, the traditional territory of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oje-Cree, Dakota and Dene peoples, and the homeland of the Metis Nation.
